Last Minute Flights Cheap And Easy

Last Minute Flights Cheap And Easy

By : Peter Finch

Plans come up in an instant. Friends call with last minute invitations. Business deals come together quicker than you would have believed possible. Whatever the reason, you may find yourself need to book last minute flights.

By following a few easy steps, the stress of last minute travel can be reduced to taking your black blazer or your brown. As you begin to pack your bags, you can be taking action at the same time to ensure your flights are cheap and easy.

First, keep your eyes and ideas wide open. Calling one airline to price a ticket is definitely not the way to go in this age of the internet. Instead, start your search by going to a discount or travel comparison site, to see what options exist. It is far easier and it saves a tremendous amount of time to see all of your options at once rather than calling or browsing around to individual airlines.

Just because you use a discount or comparison site to do your research does not mean you need to book there, however. Often, the lowest price available is then padded with booking costs or hidden fees – that is how discount and comparison sites generate revenue. Your best bet can be to use the research you have completed to pinpoint which airline you will need to work with to book your flights.

Next, always stay flexible when booking. Accept the possibility of taking flights at odd times or with odd connections. While flights may book up to popular destinations quickly, not everyone is willing to get up at the crack of dawn; if you are, you can sometimes find great last minute flights at terrific fares.

Perhaps a red-eye flight is an option you can consider. Plan to sleep on the plane, and you will save even more money without needing a hotel room for that night! Connections may not always be pleasant or time-efficient, but they can sometimes be considerably cheaper than direct flights. Always keep this option in mind when planning.

Finally, consider that you may be well served by taking risks to make your last minute flights cheap and easy. Many airlines still offer the option of stand-by tickets – purchased with the possibility that you may get on a flight, after full-fare revenue passengers are boarded.

If you absolutely need to get somewhere by noon, this may not be your best bet. But if you are confident that flight loads will leave plenty of empty seats, or if your travel plans are completely flexible, this can be a terrific option.

Another option that carries a degree of risk is purchasing a ticket through a travel bidding website. Enter your destination and the price you are willing to pay and you will soon hear whether an airline accepts your offered revenue so that they do not have to let a seat fly empty. The risk is that you will take away any flight time options most likely and get whatever the airline wants to fill.

Do your research, plan carefully, consider a risk, but do not forget to start packing! After you book your last minute flights, it will be time to head to the airport!

Disney Home Rentals – The Economical Way to Enjoy a Disney World Vacation

Disney Home Rentals – The Economical Way to Enjoy a Disney World Vacation

By Mark Whichard

A vacation in Disney World in Florida is the dream of many people but the costs of a vacation in the Orlando area can really add up if you are not careful. One of the best ways to cut costs, while not taking away from the fun, is to get a rental home near Disney World, rather than rent a hotel room or rooms. In case you are not familiar with this accommodation option, let me explain the important points.

The Disney home rentals are fully furnished, fully equipped condominiums and villas with from two to seven bedrooms. While I am emphasizing that you are going to save money by choosing a rental home rather than a hotel, you are actually going to gain in space and in comfort.

Instead of being cramped into one or two rooms, you and your family will have an entire house at your disposal. For example, you can have a rental home with three bedrooms, two baths, a living room, dining room, kitchen and private pool. The home is fully furnished, air conditioned, has a fully equipped kitchen, and digital cable TV.

Think of what that means. Your children can have their own rooms and sleep soundly. You can get a meal or snack whenever you like, and swim in your own pool. You will have spacious, luxurious accommodations with all the amenities you can imagine.

In case you are thinking that you will get these advantages, but sacrifice in location, then you are dead wrong. These vacation homes are located within 15 minutes of Disney World, in a resort community that has a shopping plaza which includes a 24-hour supermarket, pharmacy, pizza delivery, post office, bank, and dry cleaners. The Disney vacation homes are also within a 40 minutes drive to over 200 golf courses. The location is ideal for enjoying Disney World and all the other attractions of the Orlando area.

I started out by talking about the price advantage of a vacation rental home so let’s finish with that, because this is the best part. The three-bedroom home I mentioned above starts at only $130 per night. During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day and the last 2 weeks of October) the price is $140 per night. If you plan to come during the holiday season (Christmas, Spring Break, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July) the price goes up to $150.

You can check around but I doubt if any hotel will give you so much space and amenities for only $130 per night. If you plan to enjoy your vacation or holiday with a large group, like two families together, then the savings offered by a rental home are even greater.

As with most good opportunities, the more advance planning you do the greater will be your saving. It is best to make your reservations in advance to be sure of getting the rental home that is right for you.  Some of the choicest rental homes are booked-out one year in advance.

Orlando Vacation Homes

By Elizabeth Morgan

Orlando is a city in central Florida, with a population of approximately 205,000. The city is situated in a region dotted by lakes, about 60 miles (95 km) northwest of Melbourne and 85 miles (135 km) northeast of Tampa. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations not only in the US but also around the globe. Central Florida (Orlando included), in days of yore was known for its orange plantations but these days, these are being rapidly replaced by vacation homes. Orlando’s bright and sunny weather and its beautiful lakes make it an attractive option for tourists looking for a break. Lots of people today not only flock to Orlando for their vacations but also seek to own vacation homes here. Even if you do not the financial power to own a villa here, do not worry at all because these vacation homes are also available on rent. These homes prove to be cost effective as opposed to hotels which are a costly alternative if your visits are frequent.

To accommodate 10 people in a 4 bedroom rental home with private pool on an average would cost you around $110 per night. On the other hand, to accommodate 10 people in 5 medium priced hotel rooms would cost around $500 per night. More and more tourists opine that one rarely gets the feeling of peaceful enjoyment, togetherness, spaciousness, functionality or value for money in any hotel room as opposed to vacation homes. If purchased but not used all round the year, these vacation homes or second homes can also be rented out to tourists for short periods. Rarely does owning a vacation home brings one a great income, but one should expect to have rental income cover expenses and mortgage payments. This makes the purchase go easy on the pocket with the mortgage payments taken care of. There are a lot of property dealers that proffer to take care of these homes in one’s absence.

How To Save Money At Disney – Stay In A Luxury Vacation Home

How To Save Money At Disney – Stay In A Luxury Vacation Home

By Alison Meacham

Over the past few years many people have discovered that a great way to save money on a family vacation is to rent an Orlando vacation home. There are now many homes to choose from to suit everyone, whatever they are looking for – from a 1 bed condo to an 8 bedroom luxury home. Here are some of the advantages of a Florida vacation rental home compared to staying in a hotel room:

1.It can be significantly cheaper than a hotel room. A large family would book more than one hotel room, so the savings are very significant.

2.There is much more space. A typical 5 bed Orlando vacation home would average around 2200 square feet – many times the size of a hotel room. Often homes have at least 2 master suites. Sharing a hotel room can be very stressful with children. With a rental home you can all have your own room, and often your own bathroom too!

3.You may have your own private swimming pool and perhaps a spa. There is nothing that can compare with this in a hotel room. Hotel pools can be fun, but just imagine stepping outside your door to your private pool.

4.You save a lot of money and time on meals. This is often overlooked when thinking about comparing costs of hotels and vacation homes. Even an inexpensive breakfast for a family of 4 can run to $30. All you need in your vacation home is a box of cereal, some juice and coffee! Multiply this saving over 7 days and you have saved potentially hundreds of dollars. It is also much easier to prepare and save snacks for the parks adding to your savings. By eating breakfast at your vacation home you can arrive at the parks earlier and will find it much easier to see more of the attractions.

5.Many vacation homes have excellent resort facilities which are comparable to expensive hotels. Some, have community pools, cyber cafes, clubhouses, movie theaters, children’s pools and playgrounds, convenience stores, tennis and fully equipped gyms.

6.You have a washer and dryer in your home. Laundry fees can add up – so this can be a significant cost saving. Also of course it is much more convenient to do your laundry in your home than have to use the hotel facility.

7.Parking is free and outside your door!

8.Many homes have free internet access and free international phone calls. Many hotels now charge a resort fee, and the bill for internet access and calls can add up to a huge amount.

Wherever you decide to stay – enjoy your visit!

How To Decorate Your Vacation Home

How To Decorate Your Vacation Home

By Mark Gesture

When you walk into your vacation home do you feel like its home or more like a hotel? Owning a vacation home can be a lot of work and cost some serious money. You should therefore want to spend most of your time there. Make your vacation house a second home by decorating in the taste and style that reflects your lifestyle. If your vacation home lies near the beach and you enjoy spending most of your time in the sand, colors and wall paintings should reflect the beaches’ color palettes.

I am a big believer in bringing activities you enjoy on vacation into your vacation home. The best way to decorate any home is to add your personal touch. In your vacation home make sure your personal touch includes the vacation activities you love. If you own a vacation home dedicated to enjoying the quite of the woods near a pristine lake, you may want to bring paintings inside of what you like about the lake.

Interesting enough, I don’t believe you can overdo this technique when decorating your vacation home. Make sure you make your vacation house or cabin as comfortable as your main home.

If you rent out your vacation home for part of the year, the people renting it out will definitely appreciate the personal touch because it makes it feel like a home and not a hotel. People can easily stay for a week at a hotel room or suite for their vacation. They chose to rent out a vacation house or cabin because they want to feel completely relaxed like they are at “home”.

You can also take this design tip home. Keep your mind on vacation while you’re sitting at home by bringing your vacation activities home with you. Your spouse will appreciate the beach painting, or moose head on the wall in your home. Personal touches in your house or vacation home make sure he/she will remember every minute of a stress free vacation when coming home from a hard days work.

Discover your unique style while on vacation by finding a piece of art that only you and your family would enjoy. Unique pieces of drift wood, or sand dollars can add that personal touch that is so difficult to find. Make sure you clean any product of nature that you do bring inside your vacation home. You never know what bugs, or creatures still live inside.

A special creative hobby that you enjoy to do on your free time can also serve as inspiration for your vacation home’s decor. If you enjoy arts and crafts, place your latest work of art on the coffee table or wall. If you enjoy placing ships into a bottle this can be a great addition to side table. Enjoy spending some time either creating or finding that additional item that will truly make your vacation home unique. Take your time with this process, make it a family event, or a romantic activity for the two of you.

How to Get the Best Possible Beach Vacation Home

How to Get the Best Possible Beach Vacation Home

By Terence Roberts

There is nothing more relaxing than having a week or two to spend at the beach. Vacation homes are a wonderful change from staying at a large or impersonal motel or hotel, plus they have the added convenience of being close to or even right on the water, having all the amenities of a house, as well as being much larger than a hotel room or even a suite would be.

Many of the beach vacation homes available offer all the features of a hotel vacation. If you are considering a rental and are going through an agency or property management company, it is usually possible to have a rental car provided for you upon arrival. In addition, many companies and agencies can also offer bonded and professional cleaning staff, chefs and even tour guides that will personalize your beach vacation and really make it a holiday for everyone in the family.

If you would prefer to just be able to relax and enjoy the warm weather, beach vacation homes can offer a quiet, stress-free holiday environment. To ensure that you get the best possible rental property, be sure to check the following:

? Ensure that you know the full amount of the rental and any additional expenses that may be included. Most beach vacation homes, especially those that are right on the beach or at the water will book up at least one season in advance. Holiday times such as summer vacation, spring break and even Christmas holidays may be booked several seasons in advance.

? Before sending a deposit or providing a credit card number for a deposit or reservation, fully understand the cancellation policy or any insurance that you may need to have on the property.

? Whether you are renting beach vacation homes from an individual or a company, be sure to get everything in writing before supplying a deposit or credit card information, especially if you have not rented through the company or from the individual before. A verbal agreement is not binding or legally valid in a court but a written, signed contract is a legal document.

? Finally, check the area in which the beach vacation home is located. While property right on the beach is great in quiet or secluded places, on busy beaches it can be a bit more stressful and noisy, especially if you are wanting a quiet vacation spot.

Doing some advanced research on beach vacation homes is simple through the internet or making a few phone calls. Planning your vacation is half the fun and knowing what you want and finding just the right beach vacation homes makes the holiday perfect for the whole family.

Orlando Vacation Home Benefits

December 8, 2008 in Vacation Homes by Julaluk

Orlando Vacation Home Benefits

By Trey Duling

Vacation is supposed to be a pleasurable, relaxing, worry-free experience. Well, that’s not always the case, especially when 4 people are in the tight quarters of a hotel room, and even more when there are children. We’ve all been there, you get back to the hotel after a long day at the theme parks and all you want to do is relax and decompress, while the kids still have boundless amounts of energy. Tension builds in the room, and there is no where to go, and the vacation quickly turns from pleasurable to miserable.

Why not rent a villa or vacation home instead? It includes all the amenities of a hotel and more, for a comparable price. All vacation homes and villas located around Disney are equipped with a private pool, and most can fit 6+ people. All vacation homes come fully furnished, including a television in all rooms, so there will be no arguing over the remote. There is a king size bed in the master suite, and 2 beds in each other bedroom.

The kitchen also comes with all the pots, and pans, plates and silverware for 4 to 6 people. Nobody realizes how much they use their refrigerator, stove, and microwave, until they have to stay in a hotel room without them. All vacation homes come with a full kitchen, which can also save money. Instead of going out to eat for 3 meals a day and spending $10-15 per person, why not spark up the barbeque while the kids enjoy the pool? Vacation homes run from $85 to $165 a night. Hotels can vary from $85 to more than $165 a night, and in a vacation home you get 4 or more times what you get in a hotel.

Separate rooms can come in handy when traveling with children. You can still watch television, or go about your nightly tasks as you would at home, while the children sleep in the other room, instead of having to walk on eggshells in a hotel room where they are 3 feet away from you. Even better, when on a vacation we want to feel at home, and living out of a suitcase does not make anyone feel at home. The closets in hotel rooms are holes in the walls with doors, there is no way that anyone could fit a weeks worth of clothes in there. Well, in a vacation home there are numerous rooms, all with full-size closets, so for all you women who have to travel with their 15 pairs of shoes, have no fear, the vacation home will give them a place to stay.

Now, when renting a home without ever having seen it, everyone has their doubts. But, here at orlandovacation we are here to lift those doubts. All of our homes have been built within the last 4 years. There are three levels of homes that are offered: silver, gold, and platinum, and some of these have been decorated by professional interior designers!

Even better, the homes are located not only close to Disney, but also near all the other great Orlando action. If you want to take a break from the parks for a day, or the sky is looking a bit cloudy (which can be an everyday occurrence in central Florida) then just travel down international drive and visit wonder works, or Ripleys Believe It or Not.

At most hotels, you are charged overhead. In other words, you are paying for the valet service and the maid service and various other services, even if you aren’t really using them. Plus, they expect tips. Now, at a vacation home you do not have maid service or valet service, or any other miscellaneous charges, you don’t pay for things that you don’t necessarily need.

Anyway you look at it, renting a vacation home no matter what your destination could make any vacation a much more enjoyable experience, for about the same price as a stuffy hotel room. Sit back, spread out, and relax. Have the privacy of your own home, on vacation. Enjoy the stress-free vacation destination in a vacation home, where the biggest stressor is deciding which park to go to first. Make your vacation pleasurable instead of miserable with a vacation home.

Trey Duling is the owner of Orlandovacation.com the largest and most premier provider of vacation homes near Disney World. We have a passion at Orlandovacation.com of helping guest plan the perfect vacation. If you are coming to Orlando in the near future we will be more than happy to help you.

Resort Condo Hotels As A Vacation Home

December 8, 2008 in Vacation Homes by Julaluk

Resort Condo Hotels As A Vacation Home

By Mary Hanna

The latest trend in vacation homes or second homes is the resort condo hotel. According to NAR, investment homes accounted for a quarter of all home purchases in 2004, and vacation home purchases an additional 13 percent. Condo Hotels first started appearing in places like Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. They have increased tremendously in popularity and can now be found in places like Belize and Dubai.

As the owner of a condo hotel unit, you can keep your condo hotel as long as you’d like. Use it as a get-away-from-it-all vacation home if desired, all the while building equity for when you want to sell it. Marketed as a condominium located in a resort hotel, these private residences offer a practical way to own a vacation home, and offset some of the costs when you’re not there.

If you’re seriously considering buying a second home or vacation home consider a condo hotel. Condo-Hotels Statistics show that the market for homes with rental income potential is nearly twice the size of the market for vacation homes that are seldom rented. The typical condo hotel produces higher levels of income than the traditional vacation home (and less headaches), making it all the more appealing to buyers.

Here’s how it works. You purchase a condominium in price ranges from as low as $400,000 to well over $2 million that is located in a resort hotel. After purchasing it, you tell the hotel when you intend to stay in your condo and they reserve those dates for you. When you are not there, your condo goes into a rental program, managed by the hotel, and is rented out as a hotel room.

The beauty of this type of arrangement is that you get a beautiful condominium in a luxury resort, but don’t have to worry about maintenance and upkeep when you’re not there. Another plus is because the hotel is renting out your condo, your vacation home becomes an investment property. Because hotel employees handle marketing and promotion, you don’t have to, and you get the added benefit of having your condo marketed as part of a well-known and respected luxury hotel. Imagine the marketing power behind names such as Ritz-Carlton and Trump! Having your vacation condo promoted under a name like that gives you tremendous exposure.

The condo hotel buyer sees the benefit of owning a vacation property that also has the potential to produce income for them and build equity long term. This is one of the biggest appeals of condo-hotels because the rental income can offset some of the costs of owning a vacation property. With the advantages they offer over time shares, it’s easy to see why so many people looking for a vacation property investment they can also enjoy, when they want to, are now looking at condo-hotels.

These hotels are landscaped and furnished with so much imagination that just touring these hotels can be a vacation activity in itself. There are spas, restaurants, shopping and nightspots.

Another popular option is the fractional property. The original fractional format was started to formalize the sharing of a single family home within a destination resort area like Aspen or Telluride. Traditional fractions now involve condominiums and townhouses as well as single family homes. These fractional properties are usually sold in one-fourth interests, also termed Quarter-shares. Quarter-share owners receive one week of use each month for a total of 13 weeks per year. Variations of the Traditional Fractional include: Fifth-shares with a total of 10 weeks per year and an assignment of use every fifth week, and; Sixth-shares with 8 weeks of use per year and allocation of time every sixth week.

Within each traditional fractional format, the weeks are assigned through a rotational calendar to distribute the most desirable times of the seasons in a fair and equitable manner. The owner may either use or give away their weeks, or they can place their unused time in a rental program and split the revenue with the property manager after costs. Quality of the residence and furnishings is in the 3 to 4-star ranges. Service levels are at the 3-star level, if they are included in the program offering.

Either type of property is an excellent choice for a vacation home. So, when looking into buying a second home, check out these types of property as an option.
